The DOD Chthonic Fuzz spits thick, slimy fuzz and has been specially designed for use in combination with electric guitars equipped with relatively low-output pickups, think single-coils, P90s, gold-foils and PAF-style humbuckers. Stick this silicon-based fuzz effect at the start of your signal chain and gain optimum control over the sound via the volume pot of your guitar. The sweet-spot sits between setting 7 or 8 and gets you a satisfyingly responsive overdrive. Dial it down a little and you get sparkling cleans that are just a tad rough around the edges.
The Chthonic Fuzz: Easy to Steer
Digitech have opted for an intuitive control lay-out, which means the Chthonic Fuzz has been loaded with an Output volume control, a Fuzz intensity control, and a Lustre control for reining in the high frequencies that remain after the main distortion phases, which explains why this stompbox works so well in combination with single-coils and clean amp channels. Crammed in an all-metal housing decorated with Cthulhu artwork, the Chthonic Fuzz looks great on any pedalboard.
